The main point for consideration in this situation is whether the initial agreement between Packard and Hewlett constitutes as a contract that has a legal relationship, and if so, is Hewlett within his rights to void the established contract and sell the laptop to the offeror with a higher price. The General Principle of Law here would imply here that Hewlett and Packard, are in a contract due to consensus ad idem, in that a meeting of minds must be between the two parties to be counted as a contract (Don Mayer, 2011). This contract is enforceable as the following factors are present: 1)Offer: Hewlett had made a bilateral offer to his classmates to sell his laptop at $800/-. This is an offer as the offeror had indicated his intention to sell his laptop to any member of his class at $800. 2)Acceptance: Packard had clearly communicated his unconditional acceptance of his offer, thereby closing the offer. 3)Consideration and Legal Relations: Consideration under the Law is defined as â€Å"some right, interest, profit or benefit accruing to one party, or some forbearance detriment, loss or responsibility given, suffered or undertaken by the other† Currie v Misa (1875) (InBrief: Free Legal Information, 2014). Hewlett promised to do the transaction of the laptop tomorrow after he transferred his data in the laptop and Packard agreed. This is executory consideration and shows that due consideration has been done on the part of the promisee. Legal relations are thus also created. They are thus in a legally binding contract and either party can sue should there be a breach. Hewlett is not able to revoke his offer once accepted even if someone were to offer him a higher price for the laptop. However, Hewlett sold his laptop to Compac for $1000, discharging his contract with Packard by Breach. Hewlett has by his own act disabled himself from performing the contract and Packard can thus bring action against him for the Breach of Contract. The Principle guiding this was established in Synge v Synge (1894). Recommendation and Conclusion In conclusion, Packard is able to bring action against Hewlett for selling the laptop to Compac even after an initial contract was established with Packard. He is able to sue under Discharge of Contract by Breach and the Court will likely move possession of the laptop back to Packard after Packard pays Hewlett the $800 as agreed. Hewlett will also have to refund Compac his $1000.

They are similar both are haunted by an undefined guilt and a desire for blissful unity. Further, the characters in both the works are the people that the two main characters know. Hence, both of the stories have been written so well that each of them makes perfect sense and still, interestingly, the reason is not the only thing needed to understand the plot. The movie is a dream and an illusion that defies waking logic and yet seems remarkably complete and seamless. (Ruch, 2001) It is through this that the director tries to portray how sometimes real knowledge cannot be distinguished from the false one as both may seem so authentic and absolute. This idea directly questions how different kinds of knowledge can be differentiated and so the storyline comes under the realm of epistemology. Both of the narrations are also similar because of the presence of a simple concept. Both take place in the dreaming conscious of a single protagonist, Diane Selwyn. Diane (or Betty in the hallucination) is a character that is mostly dominated by emotions of envy and some darker feelings- there is a part of the character that seeks to consume the object of her desire.

As a function of creating this comparison, the author invokes the magical understandings of what had previously defined the culture as compared to the rigid scientific methods that the protagonist attempts to force to coincide with a much simpler albeit more mysterious way of life that his people had experi enced prior to the arrival of the gypsy traders. However, what is unique in the mechanics of the story is the scope of action that it encompasses. As compared to the second story which will be considered, the subject matter is spread over a long time period that â€Å"magically† encompasses the life of a single individual (Mills 114). As a means to engage the reader on the range of intercultural issues that arise as a result of Europe meeting the Western Hemisphere, the author has a wealth of information and parallels that can be drawn that work to help the story to cover a much longer time span than would have been available had a different medium other than magical realism been utilized. The nickel metal hydride battery enabled the GM EV1 to have a real world range of 250 km and the Chevrolet S10 achieved a range of 110 to 130 km with full charge and can usually last for years on end depending on how many times you have to recharge the full battery. Today, nickel metal hydride batteries are commonly used for cameras, camcorders, cell phones, pagers, medical instruments, etc. An interview published last year in the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists said that there was going to be a new approach to photovoltaic thin-film production that would allow factories to make enough solar panels in a year to produce at least one gigawatt of electricity annually—roughly the scale of a nuclear power plant—at the price of coal. The argument for thin-film solar panels is that thin-film solar can actually be cheaper than one dollar a watt, low price solar panels are opening up new markets (which could lead to a surge in demand), and the fastest, cheapest way to meet that demand could be building thin-film solar factories, since you can build those factories for a third as much as silicon solar panel factories. Although this seems beneficial, the main arguments against thin-film solar panels are the cost of everything else that goes into the final cost of solar power (including installation costs, which are now higher than the cost of panels themselves), you can save much more money if higher efficiency solar panels are put in because the company would have to buy less panels, and thin-film solar panels are actually less efficient than silicon ones. Because of the strong points of the argument, I do not think that putting in thin-film solar panels is worth the trouble when time and money could be saved with more efficient panels. 4. The goal of Plug in America is to get Americans to switch to a car that uses clean, affordable, domestic electricity for some or all of its energy. The best way to reduce carbon emissions is to utilize the ever cleaner, greener, more renewable grid to power transportation. Only grid-rechargeable cars can attain the end goal of zero-emissions and ensure fuel price stability. The arguments for and against electric cars are: a. One criticism of electric cars is that they often just replace one source of carbon pollution with another. When the battery packs in a lithium-ion-powered vehicle are deemed too worn out for driving, they still have up to 80 percent of their charge left. So before they ever get to a recycling center, these batteries are used to prop up the grid, especially alongside energy sources that may not be quite as steady, like wind or solar power. Based on the market survey, FM targeted the mass people of the Base of the Pyramid (BOP) which includes 732 million people living on less than Rs. 150,000/year in villages and urban slums throughout India where majority of the people live in darkness without having any light in their house. Globally, people in this socioeconomic group earn Rs. 50 to Rs.400 in purchasing power parity (PPP) per day. Yet these households often pay higher prices than wealthier consumers do for lower-quality goods and services because of uncompetitive markets. The rural Indian BoP market as households spend less than INR 3,453 Indian rupees on goods and services per month. This definition represents a market of 114 million households, or 76 percent of the rural population. (CDF/IFMR â€Å"Power to the People† Study). Marketing * Frontier Markets’ marketing field staff conduct marketing sessions to build demand for products in BOP households. * Frontier Markets developed a peer-to-peer marketing strategy that is a creative, below-the-line marketing technique that are most likely to succeed among peri-urban and rural consumers. Market Entry and Product Feedback * FM collects data about its consumers to understand their product demands as well as understand which products to introduce into the market. * FM collects consumer data to provide feedback on products like Solar lamp and its usages. * Frontier Markets also gauge the potential of their products through market assessments, and feedback to determine whether market entry for certain product is viable in urban and rural consumers. Product Concept FM with their market survey and feedback, came up with selling and distributing the Solar lamps in the segment i.e. BOP (Bottom of the Pyramid) segments where there is a need of clean energy in the rural villages. They targeted the base of Pyramid segments which as geographically wise spread in the remote village areas where there is need of the product. Market Segment FM CEO Ms. Shah, said â€Å"Reaching out to rural markets requires a bottom-up approach,† she says. â€Å"they had to identify what rural people need, the price points they are comfortable with, demonstrate the use of the product they are selling, and show them why it is relevant to their lives.† Having earlier worked with microfinance institutions, Ujjivan Financial Services and SKS Microfinance, Shah reveals her expertise that there are many products for which there is latent demand in rural areas, but they do not sell there simply because of distribution problems. With solar lamps, she saw the opportunity to fill a vital gap. FM sources solar products in bulk from different manufacturers and retails them under the brand name ‘Saral Jeevan’. FM’s trump card is the profile of its agents, whom it pays a commission. These are village-level community workers, who are already familiar faces in the region, since they also provide some other service. â€Å"People trust these village representatives as they are known to them,† says Shah. In order to create the demand and to reach out to people in villages, FM worked on the people which include krishi mitras (farmers’ friends) who are employed by the Krishi Vigyan Kendras, an Indian Council of Agricultural Research project, to keep farmers informed about latest agricultural technologies; workers in government-run anganwadis (creches); as well as employees of a privately-owned dairy, which sells milk in rural areas. FM’s current network is confined to Chomu district of Rajasthan, adjoining Jaipur, but it hopes to expand much further in the coming years. Bhagwan Sahai Yadav is one such krishi mitra, who also sells Saral Jeevan products. In a testimonial to the product he sells, he bought one himself. â€Å"I bought a solar lantern from Frontier Markets so that my granddaughter could study in the evening,† he says. The company has 30 such agents and has sold 700 solar lighting products in 214 of Chomu’s 350-odd villages. FM now chasing a target of selling 500 products a month,† says Shah. The plan is to reach out to two other districts, Alwar and Bassi, and all of Rajasthan by the end of 2013. They have also tie-ups with companies making clean energy products such as D.light and Duron Energy in Bangalore, Intelizon in Hyderabad and Greenlight Planet in Mumbai. â€Å" FM CEO Ms Shah wants to replicate the model across three to five other states in the next five years. No clean energy company has yet been able to establish a pan-India presence. Some have tried to rope in microfinance companies to help with the distribution, but the effort has usually failed. And while distributing through village-level community workers seems a viable method, bottlenecks remain. While FM was busy in developing the concept for selling Solar Lamps, following feedback were also gathered: 1) does a customer in a far-off village go if the battery of his solar lamp turns out to be faulty or the switch malfunctions ? 2) One such is product servicing. â€Å"Where does a customer in a far-off village go if the battery of his solar lamp turns out to be faulty or the switch malfunctions. 3) Community workers do not have the specialised knowledge to repair lamps if they stop working. But at least they can, and do, provide corrective feedback to FM and, through it, to the manufacturers. Duron Energy, for instance, stopped production of one of its solar lamps called Duron Pro following reports from FM that its light, though very bright, was too focused and did not cover an entire room. In order to overcome the above issues and FM after 6 months of operations in Rajasthan, Frontier Markets, Saral Jeevan opened up their first retail store as a part of Frontier Market’s channel in Chomu Rajasthan. This retail point will be a concept store providing sales and service for local consumers in and around the Chomu area. Frontier Markets is an exclusive partner to Saral Jeevan, or â€Å"Easy Life,† an Indian branded retail channel created to better relate to low-income households in rural areas near Chomu. Coaches play an important role in the development of young athletes that carries on with them as the becoming adults. The most important factor in an athletes development is how they are treated by the coach. As we will see coaching is an important building point in the lives of young athletes and this is a main factor in how they develop into adults. From being a parent like mentor to these athletes and showing them important skills it is important that coaches take good care of their athletes. An important point made by John Wooden is that Young people need models, not critics. John wooden was a pioneer in coaching and clearly his methods worked because he had an astounding record and many titles to his name from his success at the UCLA. He broke the record of winning 7 c hampionships in a row and won ten in twelve years. His coaching standards have been changed from modern times but he set a winning standard in coaching, and many of these ideals in the following were his ideals. From many of the points that will be brought up in this paper you will be able to distinguish the difference from acceptable coaching to poor coaching. Firstly, Coaches have an important part in the development of the physical growth of young athletes. Coaches have a strong say in how much athletes exercise and stay in shape. Many coaches have their athletes highly active in lifting weights or conditioning. Some coaches have their athletes work too hard and they put their bodies at risk for injury that they have to continue in fear of losing playing time. Many athletes do not realize that they can speak up about the pain and that they think they have no say in the matter, but they do its their body. If an athlete is too scared to speak up about an injury then the coach is putting too much pressure on the athlete and is putting them at high risk for injury. An athlete has a right to keep his own body safe and healthy, but if the coach only wants to win then they might feel pushed to keep playing through the pain. As we look throughout this paper we will see this is only one of many bad characteristics of a bad coach and this alone ca n not only risk the athletes health, but it can ruin the ability for the athlete to trust people close to them. It is common in basketball for coaches to run their athletes until they puke or just about. When coaches do this they put their athletes in danger of exhaustion, heat stroke, and possible sicknesses. Coaches need to understand where to draw a line between improvement and damage. It is the same way for lifting weights if an athlete is doing too much they can put themselves at risk. Also coaches of all sports need to realize that they need safe, but aggressive drills to keep their athletes safe and allow them to last the whole season without excessive injuries. Secondly, Coaches have an important part in the development of the mental growth of young athletes. Coaches can play many roles for athletes in life such as: father or mother figures, mentors, a boss, or friend. Based on this we can see how the coach will develop the athletes mental growth. If the athlete thinks of the coach as a father or mother figure the athlete probably is a positive, but strong influence on the athlete pushing them to succeed allowing them just enough pressure to grow, but not letting them break. If the coach is viewed as a boss the athlete probably does not expect much from the coach besides coaching and improving as an athlete, they will not look for support or encourage from this coach. If the coach is viewed as a friend, then the athlete just wants encourage from the coach and will not likely want this coach putting lots of pressure on them. As athletes get older they can handle more information, stress, and other things that come with being an athlete, but certain coaches control when they grow into this. Many athletes experience a coach when they are young that is considered a bad coach, one who puts winning above his players, this grows into the player over the years. What many players do not realize is maybe that middle school coach or even younger set them up for how they handle pressure in the future from a development in their young years. With this mental growth can come the ability to play mind games with the athletes which indeed can cause damage to the athlete in their ability to trust people long term without worries of alternative motives? Thirdly, Coaches have an important part in the development of the spiritual growth of young athletes. Many athletes in Christian demographics look to their coach for guidance as they can relate to being a Christian athlete, but this can get tricky. Depending on the coach whether or not they are Christian can affect the role they play on the athlete. Obviously if he or she does not give good spiritual advice because he or she is not a faith oriented coach it is going to cloud the judgment of the athlete. Another issue is if the coach is a Christian and he or she pushes Christian ideals, but he or she does not follow them when he or she coaches his or her athletes. Many people would agree with the statement do not talk the talk, if you can not walk the walk because if you tell your students you need to be encouraging as a person to be a Christian, but are a jerk coach then you set a horrible example. Like many things even if it is not spiritual, if you can not follow your own rules you set for your players then you should not force your athletes to follow them. In a world where hypocrisy is flourishing it makes it hard to set a standard and follow it, but if you can not absolutely follow the rules you set for your athletes maybe you need to seek help so you can fix this problem you have. At these youth and teen ages many kids are looking for a spiritual mentor and if someone ruins this for them at a young age then it might ruin how they grow up in the faith, which could force them from it all together. We all need someone to guide our way if we do not then we can fall prey to the random evils around us everywhere. Most kids if they do not have good role models in cities where crime can be a problem they can get involved with the wrong kids or crowd and lead a poor lifestyle. When these kids follow these poor lifestyle choices it can lead to drugs, abuse, gang activity, jail time, or just a poor life because they did not take things seriously and they let it go to waste. Fourthly, Coaches have an important part in the development of young athletes self-esteem. Many studies show that if a child is supported as a child that he or her will have a better chance of being confident growing up. It is the same for children who are constantly put down they will have confidence issues when they grow up. While yes some kids can be supported still growing up not confident in themselves or the complete opposite make an adult of themselves after being left alone. While these studies are evident I think there is one thing that can link many of these cases together, many people in their lives attempt to play at least one sport. While many people play on sport in their life it is often they quit after one sport because they are discouraged and thus do not feel like they want to be bad at something. Many of these people lacked one thing in their experiences: a good coach to encourage them to keep trying, motivating parents, or the drive to succeed. While you do not al l three to be a good athlete have a coach that encourages can make up for the lack of the other too. While not everyone can have supportive parents it is important that coaches can play a little bit of that parenting role by being there for the athlete and supporting them. While there may be a lack of studies proving that coaches play such a high role in the development of athletes I really believe in the next ten years it will be clear and evident how coaching effects these athletes long term. When we see these effects we will be able to identify who had good, moralistic coaches and those who had the bad coaches through their development. While yes there will be variations and deviations from the pattern like the successful business man or woman, or whatever genders will exist in ten years, who pushed through the abuse and degradation of his skills, attitude, or himself from his high school coach to use it as a motivation to succeed and be better. Fifthly, Coaches have an important part in the development of how young athletes handle pressure. If young athletes are giving large amounts of pressure this can over load how they handle things, while it may prepare them for the future you should never put too much pressure on a youth athlete. If you put too much pressure on a young athlete he or she might quit the sport, become discourage, or just easily become frustrated. Pressure management is an important role in coaching youth as they are the future of our sports and world. Growing up playing sports I can agree when a coach puts too much pressure on an athlete a couple of things may happen: one the athlete overcomes the pressure pleasing the coach, the athlete does an average job not over impressing the coach, or the kid completely crumbles under the pressure. If the athlete completely crumbles under the pressure it could leave a lasting impression on the athlete mentally and emotionally, which could stay with them way until th ey are a grown adult making big decisions. If an athlete can consistently succeed under pressure the coach will obviously put more focus and effort into coaching this athlete over others because he or she will help the team more. Most athletes fall into the middle category they complete the task, but it is not as impressive and does not leave wow factor. These athletes are going to either grow into people who can take pressure more than before, will stay as mediocre, or some will fall into the problem of crumbling under pressure. It is important while these young athletes are growing to realize that how much pressure we put on them can affect them for the rest of their lives, but if we take it for granted we can let our goals come before the development of these young athletes we are trying to grow. While pressure can come from good or bad coaching it is how these coaches handle the pressure they give and how they react to the outcome of the athletes response to pressure. Some coach es may put pressure on the athletes to try out a starting spot for multiple athletes, which develops competition which helps develop aggressiveness for fighting for the spot. On the opposite spectrum a coach could put too much pressure on an athlete and then freak out on the athlete when he or she is not good enough for the coachs expectations. Many criminals and addicts have something in common, they were missing a role model in life. Many of these people realize that your parents can not always be your role model, that it where coaches come into play. Many sources believe that the longer that athletes stay in sports the more likely they are to stay out of trouble, which is due to the fact in sports kids have to have decent grades, stay drug free and stay out of trouble in school to stay eligible for their sport. Even to the fact that people admit if they would have stayed in sports they would not have gotten hooked on drugs, joined a gang, or even just kept on a better path. In my life I have personally seen friends who have stopped playing sports and their lives really took a turn for the worst. Luckily I have not had any friends fall into drug addiction, but while I have not experienced this there can be 15 people in Adrian alone who have seen or been in this exact situation. Sixthly, the development of young athletes can be drastically changed by the effects of bad coaching. While many coaches work hard to improve the lives of the many young athletes that come through their programs, it does not matter how many good coaches there are because there will always be bad coaches. What is considered a bad coach you may ask? Well if you do more than one of the following you may be a bad coach: yell at players constantly, do not encourage them, pressure them into playing through injuries, lack patience, are hypocritical in your coaching, play favorites, play mind games, force them to keep what happens in practice a secret, coach with a negative attitude, say your team is the worst you have coached, degrade players. If you take part in one or more of these activities in practices, games, workouts, or any other setting where you are the coach then you may be a bad coach. While many coaches who are completely awful coaches may not know they are a bad coach, there a re a few who do realize what they do. If you realize you bully your athletes you need to either change or quit, because you are only helping yourself with the salary if all you do is breakdown your athletes every day in and out. These tendencies can easily be passed down if you ingrain it into the minds of your athletes. One of the main problems is that many coaches who partake in these problems have good teams or programs so while they are awful coaches, they still get wins which makes them look unlikely to get fired. It can seem impossible for some coaches who bully their athletes who coach in a good program to get fired but as soon as they have a bad season they have good chances of getting fired. With these chances sometimes being slim it can be difficult for parents to deal with these hard to work with, devil like beings, the best thing you can do is try and encourage your athlete and try and make sure to keep the coach in check as much as possible. While you may be tempted to talk to the athletic director sometimes the athletic director is very bias towards protecting who he or she has hired and will not do anything against the coach even if he or she is truly wrong which happens commonly at schools all crossed the country. Seventhly, the development of young athletes can be drastically improved by the effects of good coaching. While it might be easier said than done if you just say be the opposite of the last paragraph, it is not that simple. To be a good coach you have to have a love for three things: God, your athletes, and the programs development. Having a strong spiritual structure can help make your coaching easier because following the bibles teaching helps your be more encouraging. Also none of the things that make a bad coach are good in the bible so it is easy to stay on track. The other step of having a love for your athletes. To be a good coach you need to truly love your athletes, not the jerry Sandusky type of love, but the type of love that you view the athletes as sons or daughters. If you view the athletes in your programs like sons and daughters it makes it much easier to make the right decisions for these young athletes, which in the long run will make you a better coach then before. If you love someone like a daughter or son you will treat them with respect, tough love, and will want the best for them. Lastly you need to have a love for the program. A good coach just does not care about his current team, but he or she cares about the future of the program. Good coaches constantly have camps for the future of the program so they can develop their future teams better. If the coach only cares about the current team and not the future of their program they may lose young athletes to other programs or schools simply because they payed more attention to the young athletes. This has become a growing trend in many programs in the past years as they need the future to succeed in weaker years. Many good coaches use this technique to build solid programs for many years because if a varsity coach works with elementary kids they will be more likely to stay and possibly bring friends to the school as well. Also if a younger athlete has better skills to improve to future tea ms the more likely the coach will keep his job if he or she has multiple years off success. The problem with this is in year of skill and ability drought he or she may decide to play under classmen more than upper classmen to look for the future of his program, because he or she can make up for a bad year this year if he or she has a great season the following year. In conclusion, from all the papers and information I have read over the past couple of weeks it is clear and obviously how to define a good, moralistic person who is a coach. A coach is not defined by the wins he or she gets on the court, field, or arena; but by the athletes he or she develops while they are in his or her program. From the many parts of coaching we hit in this paper many of them seem to boil down to who the coach is morally, if he or she are morally a bad person they will not most likely be a good coach. From building these athletes in to the person they will develop in to as a man or woman, these coaches lay the building blocks for these boys and girls. If they lay the foundation poorly either it will affect the structure immediately and someone will have to fix it or it will build up until it all collapses later in life. It is very important that when they men and women are given the opportunity to lay the foundation of the lives of our boys and girls that they mak e the right, moralistic decisions that will make them grow in amazing men and women. It is important if you are going to build a house to put in a correct, secure foundation; because if you do not then the possibility of the house being damaged later on is more of a higher possibility. That is why when you go to build a house or a building you make sure you have good, competent builder to secure a foundation that will last for generations. In this metaphor the coach being the builder and the boys and girls being the foundation of a house really works well as it shows the possibilities of where the coaching will take the athletes in their futures. When we look for someone to coach our young boys and girls we should take more care to look into the person to verify they will the type of person to make our boys and girls in to the best kids they can be and if they become good athletes too then that is the bonus. We live in the era of people looking for a coach who is going to get wins, but this is a faulty ideal because if the coach mistreats the athletes or does not grow them then you can be doing more harm than good. We need to be more focused on a coach that develops hard work through encouragement, not through punishment. I do think sometimes punishment is needed, but some coaches use punishment as a fear tactic to push athletes in the wrong way. This idea of coaching definitely will cause some athletes to perform, but others definitely will not respond well to this coaching style. As we continue through this new generation of athletes I think more data will come out after seeing the effects of coaching on the last few generations of athletes, at this point we will find out just what the poor coaches caused and what the good coaches created out of these boys and girls.

Kant: Goodness The philosopher I used is Immanuel Kant. He was very practical in his thinking of goodness. A quote of his was "I ought, therefore I can". His view was good anything is under good will . He believed good will was the primary goodness, good in its purest form, and that it couldn't be corrupted. Good feelings and good intentions and actions can be interpreted in different ways; man can corrupt these things into evil...even though it still might be good in that man's eyes. What he's really trying to say is that good will is good in its objective form. Therefore, it defines goodness. A few examples of forms of goodness that could be corrupt are intelligence, courage, and resolution. These things can be very good, but can be used for evil as well. The short story I would like to allude to in order to connect these themes and ideas is "A Good Man is Hard to Find". The title even has "good" in it...and according to Kant, goodness in its purest form is good will. The question now would be, does the Misfit have good will? Is what he is doing good, objectively, and purely? He is purging and purifying the world. He is Christ like in many senses. He is purifying the world by purging it of its evil...relating to the Old Testament. God decided that the human race was too evil to survive, so he flooded it. God killed, as well as the Misfit. This isn't the same as Christ, though; it just adds to the religious element. Christ's mission was to try and rid the world of evil, and sacrificed for it. The Misfit sacrificed his freedom initially, was "reborn" again by escaping from jail, and become a Christ like figure again...he's now reborn, and his mission has an even stronger exclamation point on it, just like Christ's after he was resurrected. The literal differences are obvious; Christ never held anyone at gunpoint, let alone kill old ladies (no matter HOW hateful). But the allusions above illustrate that the Misfit was indeed a Christ-like figure with good intentions; good will . The Misfit was in a world of evil where he felt it was his mission, as well as his intention and his will, to be the savior of the good people. When it really comes to good will, I believe that the Misfit did have good will and that, in a world such as his, the South, he was not just playing God, but his will was forcing him to be God to judge the "infidels".

World Peace through Codependency? I’m writing my second paper on how â€Å"free trade† (not just trade) can lead to world peace. Basically, David Ricardo talked about gains from trade through comparative advantage and specialization. When countries specialize in goods that they have a comparative advantage in, each country benefits from trade. This statement is also a way that specialization could lead to peace through codependency. For example: Guns and Butter; let’s say that Japan has Comparative Advantage (CA) in making guns and the U.S. has CA in making butter. The U.S. would tend towards making more butter and exporting it to Japan and Japan would do the same with guns. If this were to go on unchecked then Japan might make all of the guns and the U.S. might make all of the butter. Guns are obviously tools of intimidation and butter is harmless yet necessary for food. In this example, once the U.S. completely stopped making guns and devoted all of its resources to butter Japan could just point their guns at the U.S. and demand butter for free. This example is of course extreme but it has historical significance. Is the example of Japan turning their guns on the U.S. for free butter much different than the story of Cortez and the Aztecs? I don’t think so. I know that given current technology and current politics this situation seems preposterous but I’m sure the Aztecs felt the same way before they were killed. What I’m getting at is a point made by Adam Smith who believed that certain industries need to be protected for the sake of national defense. We can’t allow another nation to make all of our weapons or defense systems. But, if you change the two goods in this example to something else like automobiles and computers or rice and corn the potential results aren’t as catastrophic. If Japan made all of the rice and the U.S. made all the corn we’d each have monopolies but desire for the other’s product would push prices down to a reasonable level.

However, he is corrupted by evil in the form of three witches and their supernatural prophecies, and by ambition, not so much his own at first but by Lady Macbeth's ambition for him to murder Duncan, thus attaining the crown of Scotland. In Act I, Scene I three witches plan to meet MACBETH upon a heath. They announce the major theme of the play: appearances can be deceptive. "Fair is foul, and foul is fair." MACBETH's affirmation of this is reciprocated in Act I, Scene III, when he echoes the witches words, "So fair and foul a day I have not seen." Factors that are apparent in both the text and visual of MACBETH are the symbols and imagery used by Shakespeare and Polanski. Due to the different language modes used in both versions of MACBETH, the audience must themselves visualise the images in the text, since the main language mode is reading and can therefore interpret the images quite differently in comparison with Polanski's MACBETH. The main language mode in the film is viewing and listening, so the audience does not have to interpret the images for themselves because it has already been done for them, which enhances the audience's response and emotions to the dramatic development of ambition and deceptive appearances. My main go al is to make sure I can provide a better life for my children. By doing this I have to first start school and then find a good career.I tried to settle for medical assisting but the problem was simply that I was settling. My goal is to quit procrastinating and do more with my life. I have it set in my mind my children deserve the best and I am willing to do all I can to give it to them. I know I have to push myself to get through this journey. This makes the learning process easier. When I feel overwhelmed I remember my goals I have set for myself. My main personal goal is to finish school and obtain a good paying job to provide for my family and myself.
